Lorentz Covariant Lagrangians of Self-dual Gauge Fields    [PDF]

We study the Lorentz covariant Lagrangians of self-dual gauge fields. Along the method in the original PST formulation we find a simple way to covariantize the non-covariant Lagrangian. We derive in detail the basic formulas and then use them to prove the existence of extra gauge symmetries which allow us to gauge fix the auxiliary fields therein and previous non-covariant formulations are reproduced. We find the covariant Lagrangian for the case of decomposition of 6D spacetime into $D=D_1+D_2$. Our prescription can be easily extended to other non-covariant Lagrangian with more complex decomposition of spacetime. As an example, we also present the covariant Lagrangian in the case of another decomposition of spacetime.
