Compactlike BPS Lorentz-violating uncharged vortex solutions    [PDF]

We investigate and verify the existence of BPS stable uncharged vortex solutions in the framework of the Lorentz-violating and CPT-even electrodynamics of the Standard Model Extension interacting with a $\lambda |\phi |^{4}$-Higgs sector. It is observed that the Lorentz-violating parameter alters the radial extension (core of the solution) and the magnetic field amplitude of the Abrikosov-Nielsen-Olesen (ANO) vortex. These new characteristics yield compactlike defects, in analogy with compactlike solutions obtained in some k-field theories. This opens the possibility of controlling the extension of the defect without altering the usual kinetic sector of the Maxwell-Higgs model.
