Gareth P. Alexander, Randall D. Kamien, Ricardo A. MosnaWe establish that equally-spaced smectic configurations enjoy an infinite-dimensional conformal symmetry and show that there is a natural map between them and null hypersurfaces in maximally-symmetric spacetimes.
