An SO(2,4)-covariant quantization of the Maxwell field in an arbitrary conformally flat space is presented. Dirac's six-cone formalism is used in order to realize all conformally flat spaces as intersections of the null cone with a given surface in a six-dimensional space. Conformally flat spaces are related to Minkowski space by a Weyl transformation. This latter allows to transport the whole quantum structure from Minkowski space to an arbitrary conformally flat space and no calculations are effectively done in the curved space. The fields are canonically quantized in an SO(2,4)-covariant way according to the Gupta-Bleuler quantization scheme. The corresponding Wightman two-point functions are then given in relation with their Minkowskian couterparts.
